Enemies of Malt Barley and Other Small Grains

Thursday, May 13th | 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm EST

SPEAKER

Dr. Juliet Marshall, University of Idaho - Department of Entomology, Plant Pathology, and Nematology

Webinar Description: The best and the worst situations for growing barley depend on all of the typically associated production factors - the geographic region, the crops grown in rotation, the agronomic practices on-farm, and the varieties. Growers face an array of problems seen and unseen in the effort to produce a reliable and safe raw product for malting and eventually for brewing. Plant scientists and disease specialists assist our producers in all aspects from the pre-planting practices through harvest and storage, always trying to wrestle one more grain in the farmer's bin from the multitude of potential losses - and it always comes down to economics.

When: Thursday, May 13, 2021

Time: 3:00 PM-4:00 PM EST (2:00 PM-3:00 PM CST, 1:00 PM-2:00 PM MST, 12:00 PM-1:00 PM PST)
