Grain Research Tour 1:00 - 4:00 PM

The Northwest Crops and Soils Program has been busy! Join us for our 3rd Annual Grain Research Tour and come check out all the grain trials that are usually harvested by the time of our Annual Field Day.

Special guests Martin Hochhalter, Rich Horsley and Paul Schwarz, all the way from North Dakota State University, will be here to talk about barley breeding and growing barley for malting purposes.

This is a great opportunity to learn new information and get involved yourself! There are over 1,000 plots of spring and winter wheat, heirloom wheat, spring barley, and oats. We also have small grain trials on bio-controls in spring barley, interseeding, and fertility.

The Grain Tour is a Free Event to attend and snacks will be provided. Please pre-register by June 24th by calling 802-524-6501.

Open House 5:00 - 7:00 PM

Following the Grain Research Tour in Alburgh, Peterson Quality Malt (Andrew Peterson) in Monkton will have an Open House with tours of the malt house from 5pm to 7pm, followed by a grand opening party with bands, beer and a BBQ going until 10pm. Location is 1822 Monkton Road, Monkton, VT 05473. Please enjoy the Open House!
